Lead and deliver high-quality assurance engagements across external audit and internal audit assignments, ensuring work is planned, executed, documented, and reported in line with professional standards, firm methodology, and agreed timelines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise assurance engagements (external audit and internal audit), including scoping, risk assessment, materiality, audit strategy, and detailed work programs.
  • Lead fieldwork execution: allocate tasks, brief and coach team members, review working papers, and ensure sufficient, appropriate audit evidence is obtained.
  • Perform and/or review key testing areas (controls and substantive procedures), including walkthroughs, control design and operating effectiveness testing, and sampling-based verification.
  • Identify control deficiencies, financial reporting issues, and process improvement opportunities; draft clear observations, root causes, risks, and practical recommendations.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders on information requests, status updates, issue resolution, and closing meetings.
  • Prepare/review deliverables: audit reports, internal audit reports, management letters, and executive summaries; ensure conclusions are well-supported.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies (e.g., ISA/ISQM, IIA Standards, IFRS/other reporting frameworks as applicable) and maintain audit quality and documentation discipline.
  • Support engagement economics and administration (budgets, timelines, deliverables tracking) and contribute to continuous improvement of templates, methodologies, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification in progress or completed (CA/ACCA/CIA) preferred.
  • 4–7 years of experience in external audit and/or internal audit, with demonstrated supervision of teams and client-facing delivery.

Key competencies:

  • Strong understanding of audit risk, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Good project management, communication, and stakeholder management.
  • High attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and ability to coach junior staff.
